HPV Immunization Given to 456 Schoolgirls in Johar Baru

As many as 456 schoolgirls of junior high school level in Johar Baru Sub-district, Central Jakarta, received Human Papillomavirus (HPV) immunization.

Johar Baru Sub-district Community Health Center Head, Arief Wahyudhi said the HPV immunization was run from Monday (1/20) to Thursday (2/6).

Arief explained the immunization targets 9th grade or 15 year old schoolgirls who have never received the HPV immunization vaccine in Jakarta.
According to him, HPV immunization aims to prevent infections that have the potential to grow into cervical cancer, as well as provide long-term protection for reproductive health.
"The immunization of HPV is also run with routine health check," he explained.
The 10 schools as the program target are SMP Paskalis, SMP YWPM, SMPN 156, SMPN 76, SMP PGRI Johar Baru and SMP Aljihad Johar Baru. Then SMP Mifta Hussada, SMPN 2 Johar Baru, SMPN 26 Johar Baru and MTSN 9 Johar Baru.
